Through Yontifications*, noted Jewish artist Susan Fischer Weis has brought her vision of the holidays to life in a new line of jewelry. From hamentaschen to challah and matzah to menorahs, Weis has combined meaningful Judaic symbols with crystals and beads in asymmetrical patterns that are fun and whimsical.

“I’ve always felt a great sense of joy when celebrating the Jewish holidays and have been fortunate to be able to express it both spiritually and visually,” said Weis. “Yontifications is simply an extension of that. It’s a joyous way to greet the holidays, plus it’s a definite ‘conversation starter.’”

The Yontifcations line includes earrings, necklaces, bracelets and pins that celebrate Shabbat, Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot, Chanukah, Tu B’Shevat, Purim, Pesach, Yom Ha’atzmaut, and Shavuot/Bat Mitzvah. There is also one design called “Feelin’ Jewish” that can be worn year-round. All designs are original, and each piece of jewelry is assembled by hand right here in the United States. The jewelry features Swarovski crystal and custom charms created by the artist.

Best known for her work in Judaica, Weis has been a freelance graphic artist since 1981. In 1983 she began specializing in the field of Judaic art. Her two-dimensional work includes ketubot and greeting cards, one of which was nominated for a Louie Award, the highest accolades of the National Greeting Card Industry.

She has authored and illustrated Six Jewish interactive children’s books and has written and illustrated Create Your Own Jewish Calendar for children every year since 1999.

Her 3-D works include Chanukiot, Tzedakah boxes and Seder plates as well as many other Jewish household items, games and toys.

She has created numerous private commissions for Synagogues, Federations and individuals. Ms. Weis continues her work in the Jewish world bringing her style and, often, whimsical sense of joy to her creations.

*Yontifications is based on the Yiddish word, Yontif, meaning holiday.
