Yontifications Jewish Holidaywear by Susan Fsicher Weis

Susan Fischer Weis has been a freelance graphic artist since 1981. In 1983 she began specializing in the field of Judaic art. Her 2-dimensional works include ketubot and greeting cards. She has authored and illustrated six Jewish interactive children’s books and has written and illustrated Create Your Own Jewish Calendar for children every year since 1999.

Her 3-D works include Chanukiot, Tzedakah boxes and Seder plates as well as many other Jewish household items, games and toys. She has created numerous private commissions for Synagogues, Federations and individuals.

In 1996 Ms. Weis was a finalist in the Spertus Judaica Prize, an international competition for Seder plates. Her plate, on exhibit at the museum, was purchased for the Spertus family's permanent collection.

In 1997, Ms. Weis participated in a group show of Miriam’s Cups sponsored by Ma’yan. Her piece was featured in the April' 97 issue of Moment magazine.

In 2001, Ms. Weis participated in Ma’yan’s exhibit of Purim ‘Esther-Vashti’ banners. Hers alone was chosen for reproduction and sold nationally through Ma'yan. Ms. Weis continues her work in the Jewish world bringing her style and, often, whimsical sense of humor to her creations.

Her new jewelry line, Yontifications, incorporates beads and crystals from all over the world with one-of-a-kind charms. You'll find earrings to celebrate most Jewish holidays throughout the year. There's also a pair for Shabbat and one, Feelin' Jewish, that can be worn anytime.
